HANDS!!!!

It's hard to believe but Jack is 15 weeks old today! He's learning new things every day, but his favorite discovery recently are his HANDS and all the fun things he can do with them . . .

like KNOCKING FISTS TOGETHER  . . .

and CHEWING ON THEM . . .

and  WAVING TO THE CAMERA . . .

But the most fun of all is to pull on Mommy's hair with them. Unfortunately we can't get a picture of that because of all the yelling involved. Mommy just doesn't understand how fun that game is.  Those little hands sure are keeping her busy, though!

Company's Coming!

We had lots of company this weekend - and lots of fun with our company! Our friends, Guff and Leanne, came to see us for a movie marathon, Shoot-a-rama weekend. We had lots of fun hanging out and entertaining a little boy. Somehow I managed to get through the entire weekend without taking a single picture despite the fact that my camera was sitting out on the coffee table all the time. Go figure. Thanks to Leanne for posting this picture so I can copy it (and sorry for not getting one with you in it, too).

On Sunday our good friends Sally and Kathleen came by to see Jack. Sally was at the hospital with us when Jack was born and Kathleen brought him his very first picture while we were at the hospital. You can tell we had lots of fun visiting with them.

Jack had such a great time with our company that he discovered how to laugh!  A real deep, genuine laugh. We haven't figured out what tickled his funny bone so much helping me wash dishes on Sundayafternoon but he sure seemed to find it funny.

What a fun weekend!

Wearin' o' the Green

We've been feeling very festive this week! We were decked out for St Parick's Day today. No one's gonna pinch this boy . . .

. . . except maybe those pudgy thigh rolls.

We also celebrated as Jack turned 3 months old! I can't believe he is so BIG!  He weighs just under 15 pounds and is getting a whole new wardrobe as he starts wearing 6 month sizes.

He's also developing the most fun personality!  Jack is quite the talker and chats your ear off as long as he has a willing audience. He has the cutest smile and is so good about meeting new people. He studies a new face for a few minutes to get to know someone, then he breaks out into a big grin and laughs. He would much rather be sitting up - or even standing - so he can see what's going on. When he has to sit down he is always kicking his legs and feet. Sometimes it looks like he's running a race. He's figured out how to reach out and grab things so nothing is safe if it is in arm's reach - especially Mommy's hair.

Jack is learning new things all the time. He's about half way to rolling over, learning new sounds every day and stringing them together to make a conversation, sitting up more on his own, and sleeping about 8-9 hours most nights. We're working on our Sic 'Em, Bears! but haven't quite gotten that one down yet. Maybe next month!

The Exchange Basket

Jack and GeeGee have lots of fun together!  They spent this week together playing and reading and laughing and having a great time.

One of the fun things about GeeGee's visits is that she brings the Exchange Basket with her. She has a basket full of books and toys and special treats she brings to share with us during each visit. She leaves the goodies with us  - some to keep and some to borrow - and next time she comes to visit we exchange for another set of goodies.

On her first visit, GeeGee brought lots of DUCKS!
Bathtime is really fun with all those yellow duckies!

This time, she brought a basket full of MONKEYS!
Can we get into as much trouble as Curious George? Perhaps we shouldn't try.

I wonder what fun things will be in the next basket? Hurry back, GeeGee!

Spring Break

What's a boy to do on his first Spring Break?  Have a photo shoot with some help from GeeGee to celebrate turning twelve weeks old.
I'm a big boy now!
Serious thoughts goin' on ...
Wanna play?
Me and my Mommy.

Mommy started back to work this week but GeeGee and I are having lots of fun together.  Can I have another Spring Break next week?

Getting So Much Bigger!

Jack is getting bigger all the time! At 11 weeks old today, he's 13.5 pounds and 23 inches long.

His personality is really starting to show through. He LOVES to talk and chatters all the time. He has the cutest, biggest smile that he shares freely (unless there's a camera around) and the sweetest laugh (Daddy is usually the one who can get him to laugh. Apparently I'm not funny enough.).

He's getting stronger, too. He much prefers sitting up to lying down. His new favorite spot is sitting up on the couch watching the world go by.

Whatever did I do before I had this sweet little boy to play with?

I Finally Did It

I finally did it.  I finally got around to making a blog.  All of you friends who told me I needed to do it so we could keep up with each other were right.  I guess I always thought I was too boring to have a blog (at least one that anyone would read).  But now that a certain baby boy arrived a few months ago, I've discovered people are more interested in what's going on in my his life.  I actually intended to do this a few months ago but I've discovered life with a baby doesn't work on my schedule all the time.  Imagine that!  But, here's what we've been up to for the last few weeks . . .

We've watched Jack grow from . . .
1 week
to 2 weeks
to 3 weeks

to 4 weeks

to 5 weeks

to 6 weeks
to 7 weeks

to 8 weeks

to 9 weeks

to 10 weeks

We've played in the snow - TWICE! That's a lot for a little boy from Mississippi!
The first time, he wasn't much of a fan of the snow, but . . .
The second time was better!

We've had lots of company, too!
Snuggling with GeeGee
Sharing Christmas with Mimi and Granddaddy

Posing with Papa

And now we starting to take lots of outings!
Taking walks (or rides) with Betsy

Going to the Gun Show with Daddy

Helping Mommy buy groceries

As you can tell, we've been busy!
